I think this would be a good time to talk about people and their relationships with people of different morals.
“Why, because today is April 20th, AKA 4/20, a holiday for weed smoking?”
Actually, yes.
I have heard two sorts of conversations / comments today:
Either Comment A,
“Duuuude Happy 4/20 LOL :D”
or Comment B,
“I don’t understand why people are so accepting of 4/20, it’s just an outlet for addicts.”
First of all.
The people who are commenting Comment A are usually people who don’t blaze, but just people who are trying to be silly or funny.
Everyone I know who blazes doesn’t really say anything, or even recognize, 4/20 until they are lighting up, and being silly then.
Second of all.
The people who are commenting Comment B are all people who don’t understand the concept of Comment A, that is, it’s not really that serious.
It is just something silly people say, and not really followed.
Especially on a Tuesday.
In fact, the number 420 comes from a group of kids who, back in 1971, would meet up after school at 4:20 PM to get high.
Apparently, it was a large group of teenagers, which led to the time becoming famous, and eventually, when people realized that April 20th was 4/20, too, it just became an unofficial holiday.
It’s not like pot smokers are dead serious about April 20th, nor are there parades and cartoon specials, or anything at all.
So people need to relax.
It’s just a joke.
(And if people actually are lighting up on 4/20, trust me, they’d blaze any day of the year; the date totally isn’t important at all.)
